Concept Boards

This is an example concept board that i took inspiration from when creating my own, i used the overlapping technique to make the most out of the space available on the page.

This is another example although this uses a different technique when it comes to the layout of the images, there are spaces in between each image making for a more clean look.

This is the concept board that i created, this is a board that is based on the Victorian Street setting and i included all things that were present in that time such as appropriate building and multiple wall and floor textures.

Initial Sketches for Environments

These are the images of my initial sketches for my 3D art work, they are all different takes on the Victorian street setting that i have previously looked at.

This sketch was created with a Victorian road and a tunnel in mind, which also leads to a garden of sorts represented by the trees on the left side

This was another sketch for the same setting, i kept the flooring and the tunnel but i added detail. I replaced the garden area with a alley way with an old lamppost in the way, i think that this gives a better impression of a street.

Surface and Colour Samples

I started to create various surfaces and textures using various materials from Water Colours, Pencil and Wax Pastels

These three surfaces were created using Wax Pastels, i used a combination of colors to create a dirty and rugged effect ton the brick texture and then i scratched the shapes of bricks into the wax to get the shape of bricks into the wax, i think these turned out well and the orange surface was the one i based my final piece on.

Here are some other test surfaces that i created, with some of these i used water colours although i dont think that those turned out well

FOr the right on I drew the individual bricks using pencil and then tried water colour over it to create a good texture but i dont think that water colour can create the rugged texture of bricks like the Wax Pastels can.

These were more experiments with wax pastels although i used various colour schemes to find out which one would look the best in the setting that I chose.
I tried using scrunched up tissue paper to create a texture for a floor and i used water colour over that.

This is another lighter take on the bricks texture but i disliked the colour

These were more experiments with the water colour but in these i used them in a different way, i dried using a mic of colours to give the impression of differently wared bricks but i ended up not doing this as i don't think that it turned out well

These are the final samples of surfaces using the Wax although i used different techniques to try and create a different effect and texture,

Final 2D Designs

This is the previous sketch but done on paper that is meant to be folded into the final 3d Shape.
This is what that design looks like stood up to look 3D, this is the design that i stuck with

Final Design of 3D Model

This is my final 3D finished piece, i uses the Wax Pastel to create the colour and the texture then scratched out the details using a knife.

I used black tissue paper to give the impression that the tunnel is long and there isnt much ight in there
